Finally took myself to a real running store and had them help me find a pair of sneakers
that really work for me. http://www.runningroom.com/
I went in and just told the nice young man that I needed new sneakers. Mine are over a year old- and the amount of weight I had on them for most of the year- and the number of miles I put on the the second half of the year- it really was time for a new pair.
He had me walk in my stocking feet back and forth so he could see how I walk- then he determined I walked a little pronated (which I pretty much knew already from my PT) and recommended a Pronation Control shoe. So we started trying them on. He knew I was already wearing Saucony- so we started there- but we tried on Nikes, Brooks and I think one other brand- but the three pairs of different Saucony were the ones that felt the best! I even ran around the store a little bit to be sure that these were the ones that felt the best! (not loving the color as much as the other pairs- but these really did feel the most comfortable!)
So I walked out of there the proud new owner of a pair of Saucony Progrid Hurricanes! They are a half-size bigger than the ones I was currently wearing- and they are much more “cushiony” (didn’t realize how “old” mine had really gotten!)
Tomorrow I am going to run with Mary from http://www.fitthisgirl.com/ so it will be my innagural run in them! I am excited! They are sitting by the door waiting for me!!

I bought a pair of those Sketcher Shape ups! Because Heather was with me, I was able to find them in my size – she is my good luck piece for finding foot wear. I have only worn them once – taking Jake around the two blocks but they feel just fine…
Oh the joy of new running shoes:) Those look like some great shoes! I hope that they work out for you:)
Must be "get a new pair of running shoes" week! I grabbed a new pair of Asics yesterday. It is interesting to see what kinds of shoes other runner's wear.
