The beginning of 2010 STATS & Weekly Weigh in and Pictures

So this post will be where I can come back in 2011- and compare where I am physically to where I was before and where I am now! :) Good things are happening here! The scale is finally starting to move again. That ever elusive 17X.. is finally on the scale! (Barely- and it is still a little up and down- but it is there!)

The day of my surgery! I had already started loosing weight on the liquid diet!
January 1- 2010!

So there ya have it folks… 8 months of STATS… a starting and ending point… This is where I am right now today! I did a Body Composition evaluation at the gym on New Year’s Eve. It really gave me some great info- and some food for thought!

My Body Composition and goals according to the computerized test is as follows:
Body Weight: 179                                                Goal: 163- 169
Lean Body Mass: 132                                          Goal: 132
Fat Mass: 47.1                                                     Goal: 37
Body Fat %: 26.3                                                 Goal: 20.5%

I am in the MODERATE percent body fat! MODERATE!! The paper says (and I QUOTE) You are “slightly” over your ideal body fat!! Reducing your body fat to the optimal range of 19.1 to 24.0 percent qill reduce your body weight to 163-173.8 lbs.

Uhm… That range of weight goal is a lot higher than the super stretch goal I had kind of set for myself based on the surgeon’s recommendation. However- the surgeon was just going by the BMI chart- he wasn;t looking at lean body mass percentages etc. I cannot loose any of that 132 lbs of lean mass… I need to preserve and grow that… and because I eat so fewe carbs- I know I already burn lean mass more than the average person does… If I loose much more than this recommendation- I coud actually be doing my body more harm than good- especially as I try to train for the half marathon and continue to tone up my muscles.

WOW! I told her I was still hoping to get to about 160! (5 lbs less than high school graduation weight) but I am really no longer going to “hope” and stretch to the 147-150lbs goal. It would not be safe for me. (Now what my body decides- I am going to have to see- sometimes with the surgery you can loose “too much” then your body will settle in and gain back to the “normalized” weight and with all the working out I do… we’ll have to keep an eye on that!)

But ok.. back to WOW! If I set myself up for a 160 goal weight? Then I am only 19 lbs from reaching my goal weight!! Not even 20 lbs away!! WHOA NELLY!! THAT is just crazy!! It just doesn’t seem possible. I have been soo focused on these numbers for so long… this past 8 months has been all about the scale!! I am so glad I knew this day would come and have been trying to create new FITNESS related goals so I have something to reach for once the scale has reached a happy place!! :)

Bring on 2010!!
