I am not a big fan of resolutions… they seem to vague and nebulous and no one ever “keeps” them. How can you- resolve isn’t a way to get things done… but me? I am a goal oriented girl. Goals get me moving- goals make me wanna get things done… so each year I try to create goals for myself. (This also reminds me that going back and reviewing those goals periodically throughout the year- and at the end of the year- is a good way to help set the stage for the new year as well.)
This year my goals are as follows: (Some I can categorize- some not so much- I tried to where I could.)
Friendships/Relationships/Family
1- Do a better job of maintaining the love and closeness of the amazing friendships and relationships I already have with people
2- Meet new people! Do activities and pursuits that allow me to meet new people and have more of a social aspect in my life
3- Entertain more with these people that I am going to meet
4- I believe with all my heart that Family is what you make it. I want to have a “family” here in MN who is part of my life and “come with the package.”
Health & Fitness
1- Continue on this weight loss journey to accomplish a healthy maintenance weight.
2- Continue the journey of eating properly and healthy habits even once my goal weight is reached. This is a lifestyle that I have created for myself and this healthy lifestyle should continue to be part of who I am.
3- Create on-going fitness goals for myself that do not include “weight/size” related goals; but are rather goals that focus on bettering my fitness, strength and or endurance.
4- Two of those fitness goals already set:
* Run a 10K (7.2 miles) race in the early spring
* Run a half marathon (13.1 miles) in the early fall
Finance
1- Be completely out of debt by March 2010
2- Begin working with a financial planner to ensure my financial security as I grow older
Professional
1- Start to grow my photography business
2- Study for and take Personal Training Certification course
3- Find and take a Nutrition Counselor certification course
4- Grow The Curvy Life into a place people will not only be inspired by a weight loss story- but learn and gain legitimate knowledge and understanding of the different facets of a healthy lifestyle.
Spiritual
1- Figure this thing out- for me. I cannot exactly believe the way I used to- yet I cannot exactly leave it behind either. I know there is a way for it to work and for me to have faith again- I will actively make that pursuit part of my life this year.
Misc.
1- Do at least one thing that when I tell people about doing it- their initial reaction is… “Really? OMG You are going to do what?” (who knows? Maybe their next sentence will be… “I can SO see you doing that though!” LOL)
2- Take at least one fabulous vacation again this year. I am leaning towards Spain- but am open to what this year brings and how I am currently defining “fabulous” at the time my vacation planning comes around.
3- Notice little things. Pay attention to the moments. It sounds so “resolution like”… yet so many things have changed in major ways in my life this year- that I know next year could seem “dull” in comparison- so I want to be sure I cherish those moments and times that come to me this year and enjoy every little moment of life.
4- LOVE! Love big. Go for it. Put away all fear and doubt and jump into the pursuit of love with “cautious abandon!” (LOL I have goals but I am not crazy after all! LOL and I am still “fear of committment La!”- but I want to reach beyond that and be willing to risk it- for love!)
5- Save enough money to pay for plastic surgery in 2010! These sisters need to be pulled up! LOL and the stomach has got to go! I have other areas I am interested in “fixing” but if I can at least do those two? I will be more than thrilled!
I am sure as the year progresses, as life and times change- this list will be modified, deleted, forgotten… LOL But I believe this is a pretty darn good start to a year that I am expecting amazing things from! I look forward to sitting here next year (or maybe someplace warm! LOL) and reviewing this list and seeing what I really did with the year 2010!

I stopped by here a day or two ago following a link about your 100 mile challenge. I've joined the challenge, but I've also learned a lot and had a lot to think about on this blog.
I like your goals too…and may even steal some!
