FOOD!

Today I ate some “real food!” WHOOO HOOO!! It was fried egg and mashed potato with gravy. It was good to chew!!! Even though you don’t CHEW mashed potatoes much! LOL It was a treat to COOK something to eat not just pour it.

I did go grocery shopping and run out to Target. That was all the walking I did. I think I carried too much at the grocery store. I had myself convinced that I wasn’t going to get much- so I got a basket- but it ended up being pretty heavy! Ooops!

What can I start to eat now?

  • Soft proteins- cheese, cottage cheese, yogurt, eggs, tofu
  • Applesauces
  • Canned and packaged fruits (trying to not get them packed in syrup is the challenge!)
  • Soft veggies, squash, cauliflower, carrots, beans (cooked to death! LOL)

Have enough to bring to work with me for lunches and have dinners for most of the two weeks I think.

Didn’t have any trouble eating what I did so far. I am going to have a piece of string cheese before I go to bed. I am feeling like I will finally be getting enough protein this way. I was so not getting enough of those shakes.

Speaking of… anyone who has had the surgery- or who is reasearching it- will read about or maybe someday experience “dumping syndrome”. Holy CROW! I hope I never experience that again! Add to the fact that my digestive system is STILL off? I was a mess when I drank my morning shake way too fast! Thankfully I did not throw up… but Good night I had to go lay down in the bed until it passed. (Ended up taking a nap! LOL So should not have done that! Too much sleep today!)

Honestly? I had a really hard time getting myself going. I did NOT want to get up and get going. Matter of fact, I did not until after 3. But I DID! I need to walk- but carrying groceries and Milk Crate like organizers up and down the stairs and from the parking spot certainly got my heart rate up! I also wanted to organize all my scrappy stuff into the new desk and bookshelf in my bedroom… didn’t get to that either. But I did buy the crates! LOL

Sylla stopped over for a couple hours. That was nice. Cuddled on the couch, watched CNN and talked politics and Universal health care and world peace. LOL I love our conversations! He was supposed to have the ceremony for his Citizenship this week- but it was postponed. :( I need to find something to give him when he does have the ceremony. Any ideas?

So that was today! Tomorrow I am scrapping for a few hours with my friend Sara- so I need to organize some stuff in the AM so I have an idea where stuff is to pack! LOL That will get me out of the house too. :)

YAY! Real food! Good for you!
Dumping syndrome…I know it all too well…only when I eat something really sweet though. I call it a sugar coma!

    Take care
