Seriously? $101.13 and nothing to chew??

OK, it is official …. The Liquid Diet starts tomorrow. (Well it could start Tuesday- but why prolong the inevitable?)

So I went shopping for everything I will need… and boy at the end of the list the only thing I can sink my teeth into are the Flintstone’s Complete Vitamins and the Dill Pickles I bought to eat today to get my last taste in!

3- 6 packs of Boost
1- 6 packs of Ensure
6- Yogurt Smoothies
10- Campbell Soup at Hand
3- 6 Packs Jell-O 10 calorie snacks
1 jar Chicken Boullion cubes
8 boxes Jell-O Mix

That should get me through most of the next two weeks!

LIQUID DIET- PRE-WEIGHT LOSS SURGERY

1- Choose 3 ‘liquid calorie meals” per day. Do NOT drink liquids that contain more than 10 calories at any other time of day
2- Each “liquid meal” will consist of 1 cup/ 8oz of liquids that contain protein and calories (See choices below)
3- Drink your “liquid meal” over a 30-45 minute time period
4- Drink only non-calorie (10 calores or less) beverages at other times of the day. It is important that you stay hydrated.

EXAMPLES OF “LIQUID MEAL” BEVERAGE CHOICES
* Skim or 1% milk
* Carnation instant breakfast (sugar free) made with skim milk
* Ready made liquid supplements (Boost, Ensure, Slim Fast)
* Yogurt smoothie
* Soy Milk
* Creamed soups, (Ex. Tomato soup made with skim milk)

TIPS
1- Try having low-sodium chicken/veggie broth (10 calores or less) to help you feel full
2- Drink plenty of non-calorie fluids – water, crystal light, diet soda, warm tea etc- Keeping yur stomach full of non-calorie liquids will help decrease hunger.
3- Eat sugar free Jell-O or popsicles (10 calores or less) between meals if you start to feel hungry
4- Avoid social situations where food is the focus or just bring your liquid meal with you
5- Stay busy between meals
6- Ask a friend (if possible someone who lives with you) to do this liquid diet with you for support

Tomorrow I will do the UNTHINKABLE~ I will weigh in and actually post my weight. That way I can keep track properly through the whole process. Oh Boy!

    La, I'm going to be cheering you on all the way. I know this isn't going to be easy and I do not envy you that liquid diet, but there's definitely a means to an ends, right? If you ever need any sort of moral support, I'm your girl!

    I'll be praying for you – it won't be easy.
    I'd try it myself, but I am going to claim that my diabetes won't let me! LOL!!
